How to pick a colour from an image
Add your image
Drop in a photo, logo or screenshot, click to browse, or paste one straight from your clipboard with Ctrl+V (⌘+V on a Mac).
Point and click
Move over the image — a magnifier shows the exact pixel on desktop — and click to pick it. On a phone, just tap.
Copy the code
Copy the colour as HEX, RGB or HSL with one click, or copy the whole palette of the image's main colours.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my image uploaded?
- No — the image is read in your browser and the colours are calculated on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- How is the palette chosen?
- The tool groups all the image's pixels into clusters of similar colour and shows the main ones, largest share first, so you see the colours that actually dominate the picture.
- Are the values exact?
- Yes, for the pixel you pick. Very large images are shown at up to 1600 px, so a detail that's a single pixel wide can blend slightly with its neighbours — pick from the middle of an area for the truest value.
