Runs on your device — your image is never uploaded. For faces, plates and documents, use strong settings: light blur can sometimes be partly reversed.

How to blur an image

  1. Add your photo

Drop in a JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC photo, or click to browse.

  2. Choose blur or pixelate

Pick a soft blur or blocky pixels, then set the strength with the slider.

  3. Choose where it applies

The whole image, only the background behind the main subject, or just the areas you paint or box — faces, licence plates, names or addresses.

  4. Download

Hold “see original” to compare, then download as PNG or JPG.

Frequently asked questions

Can a blurred face or text be un-blurred?
A light blur can sometimes be partly reversed, so for faces, plates and documents use a strong blur or pixelate with large blocks. The download contains only the blurred pixels — the original detail is not kept in the file.
How do I blur only the background?
Choose “Background only”. The main subject is detected on your device and stays sharp while everything behind it is blurred.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Everything — including subject detection — runs in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.
