Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Your files and your privacy come first. This policy explains what Squishly collects and how your files are handled.

1. Your files

Many Squishly tools process your files entirely within your browser — those files are never sent to us. For tools that require server processing (for example deep PDF compression or AI features), your file is uploaded solely to perform the task you requested, processed, and then deleted shortly afterward. We do not use your files to train AI models, and we do not sell your data.

2. Information we collect

  • Account & billing data — if you subscribe to Pro, our payment provider Paddle collects the details needed to process payment. We receive limited information (such as your email and subscription status).
  • Usage data — when you use AI tools we record the action and the credits it used against your account, so you can see your history and we can apply fair limits. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
  • Support data — anything you send us when you contact support.

3. Payment processing

Payments are handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Card details are entered with Paddle, not with us — we never see or store them. See Paddle’s own privacy policy for how they process payment data.

4. Sub-processors

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. Each only processes the data needed to perform its function:

  • Google Cloud Platform & Firebase — hosting, infrastructure, and account authentication.
  • Paddle — payment processing (Merchant of Record).
  • PhotoRoom (photoroom.com) — used only for the HD background removal feature. When you choose HD, your image is sent to PhotoRoom solely to generate the cut-out and is not retained by us afterward. The free on-device background remover runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing to PhotoRoom.

We will update this list before introducing any new AI feature that relies on an additional processor.

5. Cookies

We use only strictly-necessary cookies and local storage — for sign-in (Firebase Authentication) and secure checkout (Paddle). We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, so no cookie-consent banner is required.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can delete your account and all associated data yourself anytime from Account → Security → Delete account, or email support@squishlyapp.com.

7. Data retention

Uploaded files are deleted shortly after processing. Account and billing records are kept only as long as needed for the Service and to meet legal obligations.
