Compress PDF

Make PDFs smaller — keep text selectable with Deep mode.

  • Fast + AI modes
  • Deleted after processing
  • Free + Pro

Best for scanned or image-heavy PDFs. Pages are re-rendered as images, so text becomes part of the picture — the Proof of Fidelity report flags this for every file.

Quick compression runs right on your device. Deep compression is processed on our server and deleted right after — never stored or used for training.

How to compress a PDF

  1. Add your PDF(s)

Drag in one or more PDFs, or click to browse. You can compress a whole batch at once.

  2. Choose Quick or Deep

Quick runs on your device and works best for scanned or image-heavy PDFs. Deep runs on our server, compresses hardest, and keeps text selectable and searchable.

  3. Set quality or a target size

Pick a quality level, or switch "Compress by" to Target and enter an exact size (like 500 KB). Quick mode also lets you choose a render resolution.

  4. Download

Click Download, or Download all as a ZIP for several files. Every result comes with a Proof of Fidelity report.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Quick and Deep?
Quick runs on your device and re-renders pages as images — great for scanned or photo-heavy PDFs, but the text becomes part of the picture (no longer selectable). Deep runs on our server, compresses hardest, keeps existing text selectable and searchable, and handles files up to 25 MB (use Quick for larger ones).
Can I compress to an exact size?
Yes — switch "Compress by" to Target and enter a size, or tap 200 KB / 500 KB / 1 MB / 2 MB. If it can't reach the target without too much loss, it gets as close as it can and tells you.
Will Deep mode make a scanned PDF searchable?
No — a scanned PDF has no text layer, so it stays image-only (that would need OCR). Deep keeps text that's already there.
Are my files uploaded?
Quick compression runs entirely on your device. Deep mode is processed on our secure server and deleted straight after — never stored or used for training.
